Now retired, his legacy continues through the practice he built—now proudly led by his daughter, Dr. Kayla Kigawa.

From his early years practicing in Culver City to establishing Kigawa Family Dental as a cornerstone in the Mar Vista community, Dr. Kigawa created more than a dental practice—he created a home where patients felt seen, heard, and cared for.
He welcomed children for their first dental visits, helped adults rebuild their confidence through smile makeovers, and treated seniors with the same kindness he would offer his own parents. His approach to care was always rooted in respect, empathy, and a sincere desire to improve lives through better oral health.
A Family Legacy, Continued
Dr. Steven Kigawa’s greatest professional joy came in working side by side with his daughter, Dr. Kayla Kigawa, DDS, a third-generation dentist who shares his values and vision. After years of collaboration, Dr. Steven officially retired from dentistry, entrusting the practice to Dr. Kayla in 2025.
Today, she carries on his tradition of excellence—preserving the heart of the family practice while integrating the latest technology and techniques. Patients still feel Dr. Steven’s influence in the way they are welcomed, treated, and remembered at Kigawa Family Dental.
